Frederick County Association of Realtors

Goal is to find a way to help the community with Affordable Housing. The need for more options and assistance to the citizens is great in Frederick County. Committee plans to work through the process by counseling, publishing resources, education, possible fund raising, giving those families options and assisting with the normal framework for purchasing along with exposing them to the patience and caring of our Association. Meets the 1^st Wednesday each month @ 10:30 a.m.

Supports the growth of home ownership by donating our time, our experience, and our talents, together with those of our partners in the business community, to a neighbor in need. In this way, we underscore our commitment to the improvement and enjoyment of our County.

Plans and sponsors annual dinner-dance and Special Awards presentations. This celebration recognizes all our dedicated members both REALTORS^â and Affiliates. Committee is active from January through March when ceremony commences.

Concentrates on monthly newsletter publication for all members to help create a better informed business environment. Devotes time to project the image of the REALTORS^® in the eye of the general public implementing promotions plus publicity. Keeps FCAR up-to-date with new technology; surveying and supervising the Web Page, E-Mail, etc. . Meets the 1^st Tuesday @ 1:00 p.m.

The community liaison of the Association. Projects for charity include Annual Golf Tournament, Auction/Talent Show, Spring Raffle, etc. Members volunteer and/or organize regular volunteer hours at the Soup Kitchen plus their holiday season project “Caring & Sharing” for Salvation Army. Meets the 1^st Wednesday each month @ 11:30 a.m.

Deals with local housing issues, particularly those addressing minorities, housing affordability, handicapped, low and moderate income families. Sponsors membership and community awareness events. Reviews validity of complaints under Section 10, of the NAR Code of Ethics. Meets the 1^st Wednesday each month @ 1:00 p.m.

To receive ethics complaints and arbitration requests and to provide a preliminary review and screening process. The committee is similar to the Grand Jury’s functions within the judicial system. Sporadic year-round activity. Requires full-time REALTOR® with three or more years of experience.

FCAR’s voice in local and state politics. Members attend county and state meetings. A liaison is appointed to attend MAR’s meetings. Monitor and notify membership of local, state and national issues concerning the industry. Meets every Monday @ 8:30 a.m.

Contribute your ideas to revise and review addendum, clauses, contracts, etc. to the altering demands of the real estate market. Meets the 2^nd Thursday each month @ 9:00 a.m.
