Continuing Education

Hybrid CE Classes

As of May 1, 2021, most of our Continuing Education will be offered in a hybrid format, meaning students can attend either in-person or online.

Hybrid classroom protocols:

  • A face mask must be worn the entire duration of the class.

  • There will be a limit of 15 students who can be in the classroom.

  • Tables will be set up so students will be 6 feet apart.

  • To accommodate instances where the instructor is teaching virtually, please bring in your laptop or tablet, if possible.

  • Monitors will be present but will also be monitoring any students online.

  • Instructors will have the option to teach in person or virtually.

  • Virtual instructors will be displayed on our classroom projector screen.

  • For live teachers, we will have a video camera facing them so virtual students will still be able to watch.

For additional questions about in-person classes, contact natalie@fcar.org.

Virtual CE Classes

DLLR has approved virtual CE classes while the state of emergency is in place. These classes will be streamed via Zoom and will be conducted with the same requirements and standards as they would if they had been taught at FCAR.

Here are some things to know before you attend a virtual CE Class:

  • Arrive early to check-in

  • Be prepared to show your license to enter the class

  • At the time the meeting begins, the meeting will be closed and no one else will be able to enter

  • Monitors will still be present

  • All virtual classes will be recorded

  • Enrollment is limited to up to 20 students

  • All students must have their cameras on the entire class (no camera, no class credit)

  • Current class time duration standards remain in force

  • There will be no quiz or exam required at the end of the class

Online Continuing Education with The CE Shop

In addition to CE classes offered at the FCAR office, CE classes through The CE Shop are now available online. FCAR has partnered with The CE Shop to provide access to courses that are state-approved and fully accredited. The CE Shop manages the classes and handles all reporting to DLLR. Through this partnership, when you sign up for The CE Shop classes through FCAR, a portion of the class fee is sent to FCAR.

NAR Code of Ethics Training Cycles

We are currently in Cycle 7, which covers January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024. NAR Code of Ethics training must be completed every three years, regardless of when your license renews. You must complete a required NAR Code of Ethics training during each cycle.

The Code of Ethics class must include the NAR and the MR portion. This class can be taken here at FCAR or online at The CE Shop. There are classes offered outside of FCAR that will also fulfill the NAR requirement. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Code of Ethics class has both the NAR and MR components.

The following information is from NAR:

Below are the cycle dates for the NAR Code of Ethics Training Requirement. Training must be completed at any time during these established cycles.

Failure to complete training during any cycle will lead to suspension of membership for the January and February immediately following the cycle deadline, with the termination of membership starting March 1 after the cycle deadline.

Current Cycle:
January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024

Future Cycles:
January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027
