Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The mission of the Frederick County Association of REALTORS® is to support and enhance its members’ professional objectives and adherence to the Code of Ethics. The Association will achieve its mission by providing quality education for members, promoting professional and ethical behavior, and fostering a positive image within our community. The Frederick County Association of REALTORS®, looks to the future in setting our goals to assist our members, affiliates, and other area REALTORS®, as well as the many local communities which we serve.

 

FCAR is committed to the community, promoting the role of REALTORS® to the public, working with legislators to be involved in the political process and protecting property rights. FCAR works closely with Maryland REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® to achieve these goals. 

 

Providing quality services to our membership incorporates many programs:

 

First, FCAR is dedicated to offering timely and informative educational courses to help REALTORS® expand their knowledge. Numerous continuing education courses are scheduled throughout the year. All courses are offered to members, as well as, non-members. For additional information, the website is available www.fcar.org.

 

In addition to outstanding educational program, FCAR offers many other important services including a weekly e-newsletter which covers many important topics related to the real estate industry, an interactive website for members, affiliates and the public to access vital information, monthly membership meetings, and several active committees which work within the association and the community.

 

Some of FCAR’s most visible committees include the Legislative Committee and the Community Service Committee. The Legislative Committee has been particularly active in monitoring the local political landscape and providing input to governmental agencies on topics related to fair housing, growth, impact fees, property rights, zoning, and many other issues.

 

FCAR has many other committees with dedicated members who work hard to help the organization reach its goals. Committees, which includes Membership, Education, Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity, Model Forms, Professional Standards, Grievance, and Affordable Housing.

 

FCAR is an active Association which strives to reach out to all.

The REALTOR® marks signify the agent must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics that protects clients, the public, and other real estate agents.

Community Service

Community Service

For years, FCAR’s Community Service Committee has played a very significant role in raising money which has been donated to several outside charities and organizations, and the committee organizes FCAR benefit events. This committee was recently recognized by Maryland REALTORS® for its outstanding efforts.

Fair Housing

Fair Housing

The Frederick County Association of REALTORS® supports and defends Fair Housing. The Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination when they are renting, buying, or securing financing for any housing. The prohibitions specifically cover discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability and the presence of children.

Class Cancellation Policy

3 Hours or Less – All FCAR real estate continuing education courses of Three (3) hours in length or less shall have a $10.00 cancellation fee deducted from the refund.  The cancellation shall be received by FCAR, in writing, NO LATER THAN  Two (2) business days prior to the start of the subject class/course otherwise NO refund will be granted.

Inclement Weather Policy

Inclement weather policy

The FCAR Office follows the policy of the Frederick County Public School (FCPS) system for inclement weather.  If FCPS Schools are closed, the Association office will be closed.  If FCPS Schools are delayed opening, the Association office hours will be delayed accordingly and any meetings, classes or events planned during the delayed hours will be canceled.  Canceled education classes will be rescheduled if possible.

 

A message will be available on FCAR’s website (www.fcar.org) by 8:30 a.m.

Bit.ly provides analytics on how many people clicked on the URLs distributed by HHS.  Bit.ly analytics do not provide any personally identifiable information about the visitors who click the shortened links.   • FCAR may use Google AdWords to provide online advertisement delivery and tracking. ​​Topics that may give an appearance of an agreement to violate the antitrust laws may not be discussed on the FCAR website.

Members shall not discuss with any competitor their individual company policies relating to prices or related types of sensitive information, including (a) commission levels, fees, business expenses or other business information or policies which would allow or encourage price fixing or maintenance; (b) bids on contracts for particular properties or any information which would allow or encourage bid rigging; (c) a firm’s competitive business decisions; (d) duration or types of listing agreements the firm will enter into or the form of compensation the firm will accept or negotiate; (e) the compensation offered or paid to a firm’s agents or employees; (f) plans concerning any proposed or existing customers, clients or territories; (g) any other actions that might be construed as concerted attempts to restrain competition, including joint attempts to control or affect prices, market conditions, marketing practices, customer choice, or the like.

The video recordings brought to you by FCAR are offered to the public for informational purposes only. Any and all information perceived from these videos through either visual, verbal, or written means, should be considered the sole opinions of the presenter(s). As in all cases, viewers should never take any information from these or any videos at face value and should always do their due diligence, forming their own opinions and best judgment. And where applicable, the advice of a competent legal, tax and accounting or other professional should be sought.

FCAR Photo Policy

Photo policy

FCAR reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at an event sponsored by FCAR, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. FCAR may use the photos/videos in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by FCAR, including, but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, social media sites, etc. To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent or legal guardian. A person attending an FCAR event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer, and/or the event organizers, and/or contact FCAR, in writing of their intentions.
